You must forgive the vacant space where the By-Ways should be, this week - for I have been called not only to share the sorrow of my friend and her two sons, but to witness a grief-stricken community. I never expect, nor want to see anything like it again. Dr. Claude V. Davis, president of the State Medical Board and Fellow of the American Medical Association, succumbed last Wednesday to the effects of a stroke. Only 57, he was the tower of strength upon which the community of Pennsville and environs leaned. His passing takes on the proportions of a major catastrophe. I cannot write more at this time - but will be with you next week.
